Stop the Time/Watches

A famous work from self-proclaimed “conceptual contemporary” Italian artist Giorgio Gost. Entitled Stop the Time, the fifteen watches displayed in the frame within a frame are encased in resin like a time capsule. According to the artist, the time pieces are not to be opened up until the year 3000. The concept behind his work makes comparisons of the slower Old Economy to the New Economy of the modern day, hence the title of the work.
