Tentativi Di Restauro (Attempts at Restoration)

Diego Palasago’s mélange of mixed mediums are slow-cooked until high art bubbles to the surface. The end result is a work of extraordinary thought provoking concepts dealing with redemption and rebuilding. The red and white checkerboard pattern of an old building (most likely found in Venice, Italy where the artist resides) is gradually becoming anew with a sheen of black paint. The patches of white contain textures of brick which are being reconfigured into a simpler veneer of solid color.
