Concrete Art from the M.A.C period in Italy. The lime green backdrop is a change from the steady stream of blues that have dominated Pantaleoni’s other abstract works. The blue and orange rectangles could easily be depicted as scraps of construction paper that have been shuffled into an orderly pile, stabbed clean through with a hole puncher, and then symmetrically arranged back on the canvas. The accompanying blue circle could be one of the discarded remnants of the whole ordeal. The viewer has to wonder if the artist was a student of geometry.
