Pantaleoni shifts his focus from the canals of Venice to the city's more solidified promenade along the grand canal. While it's true that the waters still make an appearance on the far right, the bulk of the scene clearly is more 'grounded'. Pantaleoni also dabbles with perspective here, displaying immense skill with his use of lines to create a sense of structure on both the promenade and the erect buildings to the left. Also of note, once more is that ever constant use of shading along the buildings and the subdued color scheme.
